As September quickly approaches, it’s time to start thinking about one of the most important days of the year – Father’s Day. It’s the perfect opportunity to say thanks to Dad for everything they do – from teaching us how to check the oil in the car, to fixing that leaking shower, and of course for always manning the BBQ.
So whether your Dad’s a keen camper, an avid gardener or total tech head, we’ve put together a list of our favourite Father’s Day gifts for 2020.
Beer Lover Dad
If Dad is always trying new craft beers or loves a good story that goes with his cold one, then you can’t go past the James Squire special edition ‘Survivors Ale’. The James Squire brewers have resurrected a 220-year-old yeast in partnership with The Australian Wine Research Institute and Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. This is Chapter Two in the story of The Wreck. Survivors’ Ale celebrates the crew members of the shipwrecked Sydney Cove, and their brave journey from Preservation Island off the coast of Tasmania, all the way to the Sydney Colony in 1797. It’s a great story that matches an equally great beer.
Outdoor Camping Dad
Has Dad got a shed full of camping gear? A caravan that’s always ready to hit the road? Or maybe he’s the one who’s always reeling in the catch of the day when you go fishing? Then for Father’s Day you can’t go past the classic gift card from BCF. Dad can pick and choose from their full range of camping, boating, and fishing gear – meaning he can upgrade his gear or pick out something new.
Green Thumb Dad
If your Dad’s backyard looks something like the royal gardens, or he’s new-age eco warrior then make sure to check out the Australian designed Composta. A two-in-one worm farm and pot plant, you simply throw you food scraps in the centre-composting canister and watch as the worms produce a rich, organic fertiliser. The fertiliser will feed the plants growing within the pot itself, and the worm juice can be collected for the rest of your garden.
The Handyman Dad
Dads are known for being the champions at fixing things around the home and for their DIY skills. Which is why one of the most popular Father’s Day gift is the Bunnings Gift Card. Let Dad pick up the materials for his next project, or treat himself to a brand new power tool.
Foodie or Entertainer Dad
Does Dad love to unwind with a perfectly matched wine? Is he always hosting friends and family for dinner? Then this Father’s Day treat him to a very special wine subscription service from the team at one of Melbourne’s best wine store Blackhearts & Sparrow. Delivering Australia wide, every month (or quarter – you choose), Dad’ll receive six bottles plus a recipe from the likes of Andrew McConnell or Annie Smithers that’s perfectly suited to one of the drops inside the box.
Tech Head Dad
Struggling to find the perfect Father’s Day gift for the tech Dad that has all the latest gadgets? Why not get him a gift that compliments his favourite gadget, like the Belkin two-in-one PowerHouse Charge Dock that will let Dad charge his Apple Watch and iPhone simultaneously. With a Magnetic Charging Module for the Apple Watch built into the dock, the Apple Watch aligns magnetically and begins charging instantly. The dock also features a built-in VersaCase™ Lightning connector to charge an iPhone, that can be adjusted to fit almost any case.
Whatever you end up buying dad, remember it’s the time together and bonding that matters most. That’s what we will be doing this Father’s Day. Spending time with our love ones.
